Applying to the Mentoring Program

Eligibility: Participation is limited to FEAST members who have paid their annual dues. In order to apply to be matched with a mentor, you must be an enrolled graduate student.

Eligible members who are interested in applying to the mentoring program should put together an application package to be sent to the graduate student representative (jkyle1@binghamton.edu). Applications should consist of a CV, 1000 word writing sample in the area of interest, and a separate one-page explanation of interests and mentoring goals. Identification of mentoring goals is very important--if you are more interested in a mentor for your teaching-related career interests rather than research interests, for example, stating this will help to ensure that the best mentoring match is made. It is also helpful to describe some of the mentoring activities for which you hope your mentor will be available.

Applications are reviewed starting on each of the following dates: September 15, December 15, February 15, and May 15. Mentoring program partners will be matched according to similarity of work interests and expectations.
